.Well today is the day the adventure begins. My riding buddy Steve and I have been planning this trip for month's. A motorcycle vacation, the real deal. We were going to leave Saturday the 22nd, but I got off work early and we thought we would get a jump on the trip.
Steve met me at my place, we stop at Wendy's for a hamburger, then top off our fuel tanks and we were on our way. We took rt 23 south to rt 32 west to rt 41 south. So far the trip has been all 4 lane. But rt 41 is a nice two lane with a few good curves. The road surface is nice, a few bumps but overall a nice ride. We roll through West Union then down to Aberdeen, there we cross the Ohio river. Entering Ky. we had mile wide grins on our faces. In Maysville ky. we pick up route 68 south towards Lexington , a very nice ride where you pass through horse country and several small towns. We arrive in Lexington that evening feelling as though we were big time bikers traveling the country. Words cannot describe the satisfaction we felt. We found a hotel with a restaurant and bar next door. A quick shower, a hot meal, and a few cold beers and we call it a night. I know we only rode about 160 miles that evening, but that was all it took. We were hooked, and looking forward to tomorrow.
