I picked the vtx up from the shop, it has been there for a week getting serviced. Like every spring I have made a few upgrades, this year I put on new pipes, cobra speedster longs,,the cobra fi2000r fuel modulator...and of course a new set of tires. I have been running on dunlops the last few years, but this year I switched to a set of metzler M.E. 880's. The new pipes with the fi2000r and the k and n filter should give me an extra 20 horses, and I hope the new metzlers will help keep the VTX planted to the road. I take her out for a short ride, feels good to be riding again,,,it has been a long winter. I was told the upgrades will cost me some mpg, a 2 to 5 mpg loss,,oh well,,small price to pay for the extra horses,,the original pipes are very heavy, so I hope the weight change will help to offset the mpg loss a bit. The new pipes are much lighter.
